GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Provide an array of services that will assist and support individuals with developmental disabilities in an individualized, integrated community setting with job coaching services. Serves as a Liaison between CDDS, business community and other center personnel.

- Develop effective job coaching and employment plans
- Communicate with individuals to understand their goals and ambitions
- Assist individuals to discover and overcome their personal barriers and set goals
- Assess the strengths of individuals and teach them to use them effectively
- Guide individuals in learning to complete job tasks
- Help in the development of motivation and skills
- Assist individuals with disabilities in developing social and life skills
- Advise on workplace accommodations for individuals with disabilities
- Monitor and evaluate progress of individuals
- Keep records and documentation and prepare appropriate reports
- Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree in human services field or
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, plus ( ) 1-2 years experience in providing services to individuals with disabilities.
- Bilingual in Spanish and/or American Sign Language is a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Basic math skills required.
- Ability to work with reports and numbers.
- Ability to calculate moderately complex figures and amounts to accurately report activities and budgets.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to utilize Internet for resources.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state. If licensed in another state, must obtain Texas Driver License within three (3) months.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk and hear, use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone. Due to the multi-site responsibilities of this position the incumbent must be able to carry equipment and supplies (up to 15 pounds). The position requires standing and/or walking in excess of 7 hours a day.

Positions that are community-based, in whole or part, require the incumbent to travel between various worksites within his/her workday/workweek. The incumbent is required to have reliable transportation that can facilitate this requirement. The incumbent is further required to meet the criteria for insurability by the Centers risk management facilitator; and produce proof of minimal auto liability coverage when applicable. Failure to meet these terms may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment, contract, or other status with Metrocare.
