The Vice President of Healthcare Sales develops and implements companywide sales strategies that deliver services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer profile and healthcare associates to provide a return on investment to the stakeholders.
Essential Job Functions
- Develops sales goals and strategies and ensures alignment with the organizations and brand business strategy.
- Ensures proper pricing and positioning of the services within the market.
- Executes the sales strategy and ensures metrics and goals are met for the Sales team.
- Ensures the development of a strategic account plan for the demand generators in the market.
- Deploys sales team against appropriate market segments.
- Ensures Sales team understands and is leveraging demand marketing engines to full potential (generating demand for services).
- Ensures focus is on proactive selling as well as the power of referral selling.
- Partners with marketing to determine and develop marketing communication activities, evaluates marketing opportunities, develops, and executes a plan to create collateral (photos, print, direct mail, web pages) to support marketing/advertising.
- Evaluates market and economic trends and introduces appropriate changes in sales strategy to meet or exceed customer expectations, generates increased revenue, and ensures competitive position in the market.
- Communicates changes and potential revenue opportunities to leadership team.
- Develops strong partnerships with local organizations to further increase brand/product awareness; advises brand and regional team of growth opportunities.
- Proactively develops and manages internal key stakeholder relationships.
- Is the sales contact for customers; serves as the customer advocate.
- Serves as MHS authority on sales processes and sales contracts.
- Develops strong community and public relations by ensuring property participation in local, regional and client events.
- Participates in sales calls with members of the Sales and Marketing team to acquire new business and/or close on business.
- Reviews sales staffing levels to ensure sales and revenue goals are met.
- Ensures that sales strategies are communicated, implemented, and updated as market conditions fluctuate.
- Partners with CFO for annual pricing process, request for pricing, requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs), and development of marketing business plan.
- Provides relevant sales training to the Sales team.
- Use lead tracking system to document all contacts with prospects.
- Reviews financial reports and statements to determine how the Sales is performing against budget.
- Works with Sales team to determine areas of concern and develops strategies to improve the department’s performance.
- Coaches and supports Sales team to effectively manage wages and controllable expenses such as advertising and promotions, travel expenses, operating supplies etc.
- Focuses on maintaining profit margins without compromising guest or associate satisfaction.
- Identifies opportunities to increase profits and create value by challenging existing processes, encouraging innovation, and driving necessary change.
- Minimum10 years of Healthcare Services sales experience.
- Bachelorette Degree in a related field (Sales/Marketing/Management) preferred.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, talk, see, and hear.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- The ability to working flexible schedules and extended hours is sometimes required.
