Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

As our Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for testing software and hardware systems, both individually and as a system, along with related accessories. This role collaborates closely with developers. project managers, product managers, requirements engineers, and tests to ensure products meet user requirements and are properly tested according to current best practices. Guided by the product requirements, this position is also responsible for reporting issues and providing input to software and hardware teams based on testing results and performing cross-platform testing. Familiarity hardware and software systems is essential for this position and must be able to adopt and execute the concept of design of experiences (DoEs), objectively communicate issues and suggest potential solutions clearly. Additional responsibilities will include:

Working with hardware and software teams, improving system functionality, software robustness, and suability.
Designing, developing, and maintaining software test cases for software products and generating test artifacts.
Conducting various types of testing, such as smoke testing, regression testing, and performance testing, to ensure products meet design and behavioral expectations.
Performing verification tests for instrument products and accessories.
Reporting bugs generated by testing activities in a manner consistent with current practices.
Providing information to reproduce and debug issues and support that resolution by the development team.
Validating fixes to ensure effectiveness of corrective measures and avoiding introduction of new bugs.
Providing recommendations for changes to existing test cases to improve breadth and depth of testing and updating test cases to provide future testing coverage of customer reported problems.

What You Need to Succeed

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer sciences, or related scientific field.
Three years of experience in software and hardware testing.
Experience in an instrument company or lab work environment is a plus.
Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, adapting to agile or waterfall methodologies as needed.
Ability to work independently and in a team setting, comfortable interactive with a wide variety of subject matter experts, stakeholders, and global teams.
SAP knowledge is a plus.
