The Role:
The Production Planner is responsible for overseeing daily and weekly production planning within the facilities manufacturing operations by collaborating closely with our Customers, Application Engineers, Operations/Project Managers, and Human Resources departments. Contribute to the development of operating budgets for the production unit with research, evaluations, and recommended changes to production processes, systems, technology, capital, equipment, or other assets that will enhance the organization's production capabilities. The Production Planner plays a pivotal role in developing and executing a well-structured production plan/schedule that involves allocating work based on machine capacity, historical data analysis, and effective communication.
Your contribution to our vision (responsibilities):
- Coordinate workflow through multiple work centers to secure needed resources while ensuring changing customer demands, and schedule deadlines are met.
- Monitor order status, including material status, managing WIP areas, location accuracy, inventory discrepancies, manufacturing and program support, and communication support.
- Coordinate daily with Logistics, Quality, and Production teams to resolve supply bottlenecks.
- Analyze planning strategies and priority trade-offs with business units to optimize supply to meet customer demand and revenue targets.
- Escalate weekly supply changes and present resolution plans to management.
- Communicate priorities and ensure build plans are met by working closely with planning and execution teams across the US and Europe.
- Lead continuous improvement and KPI efforts in support of organizational strategies.
- Analyze material configuration and job order status using SAP-based systems and software
- Expedite flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
- Ensure availability of materials to meet production requirements and delivery commitments, works to resolve material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
You bring:
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 5 years' experience in Supply Chain or Operations Planning in either automotive, semiconductor or aerospace industry.
- Experience with process improvement, driving efficiency, and meeting aggressive deadlines.
- Ability to work well under pressure; manage competing demands.
- In-depth understanding of supply chain and standardized manufacturing processes.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Strong sense of urgency and commitment to team culture.
- Experience in project or program execution techniques preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint).
- Experience with SAP or other ERP/MRP systems is preferred.
A Plus:
- Planning experience at a greenfield start-up facility.
- Solar/PV module assembly manufacturing experience.
