Overview: The Instructional Development Specialist will produce high quality eLearning materials for all divisions of MFA Oil Company to be uploaded and maintained in our learning management system, MFA Oil PLUS. Responsible for performing needs assessments, defining learning objectives, designing, and developing training materials, curriculum, and resources and analyzing training effectiveness.

Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the learning management system (LMS) with videos, courses, and other training tools
- Utilize a variety of training methodologies, techniques, concepts, learning tools, and practices to create training sessions and ensure learning maximum effectiveness of training program
- Design curriculum, learning tools, program materials, and communication for courses, understanding and implementing the importance of aesthetics, adult learning styles, and marketing techniques
- Work with the HRIS learning management system administrator in the management of the LMS, including troubleshooting LMS issues and keeping assignments and reports current
- Frequently communicate the progress of projects, processes, and tools with learning development manager, learning/training team, and stakeholders
- Monitor, evaluate, and record training activities or program effectiveness
- Research, write, and/or edit training materials for new concepts
- Meet regularly with division managers to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training for employees to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and technologies and develop the training materials requested
- Coordinate vendor and internal trainings including and not limited to scheduling conference rooms, having materials prepared, checking technical specs, etc. May coordinate and implement training programs with outside vendors
- Proactively review and update previously created training materials to ensure they are current and meet the needs of internal clients
- Maintain data integrity and processes for the LMS including employee data, reporting, and security
- Use LMS reporting features to perform analysis and communicate information to management
- Develop other special media projects for company as assigned
- Follow posted work schedule and adhere to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours worked

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in education, communication, graphic design, multimedia, or related field
- Previous work experience in client support or training
- Experience with graphic and web production tools (e.g. Articulate Storyline, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, etc.)
- Experience with other video/audio equipment and editing tools
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in learning and development
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to act independently to achieve needed results
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to quickly learn and implement new and complex ideas, relay those concepts to others, and apply appropriately
- Ability to manage multiple projects, create effective plans, and execute
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate with customers, coworkers, and supervisors
- Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Skills:
- Experience designing and developing training programs or materials; experience using or administering a Learning Management System (LMS) is desired but not require
- Strong eye for visual and professional appeal, imparts creativity to build engaging courseware
- Ability to present and communicate ideas to selected stakeholders and project management
- Experience in both Mac/PC environments
- Navigates ambiguity and changing priorities successfully
