What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Technician - AL position at MGA Research Corporation?
MGA Research Corporation is a world leader in the automotive testing industry. As a third party organization, we provide unbiased testing services for our customers which include major vehicle OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and NHTSA. We currently operate in nine locations worldwide and have plans for further expansion in the next few years.
We are seeking individuals to fill entry level :technician positions at our Lincoln, AL location.
Relocation assistance is not available.

Test Technician, Crash or Safety Test Lab:
This is a hands-on role that primarily involves setting up and performing tests, as part of either our crash or general safety labs.
Technicians work on projects from start to finish which involves:
- Interpreting technical specifications
- Accurately preparing and setting up test articles and fixtures (requires kneeling and heavy lifting)
- Evaluating the performance of test articles using measurements and sensors
- Documenting detailed test procedures
- Communicating with supervisors and customers in a clear and timely manner
- Organizing and prioritizing tasks to ensure all deadlines are met
- Extended hours may be required due to test schedules
Other responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and maintaining test equipment
- Collaborating with other MGA facilities to maintain consistent operating practices and introduce improvements throughout the company

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- High attention to detail
- Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs unassisted
- Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to solve problems independently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in an automotive or engineering-related field
- General understanding of automotive parts and mechanics
- Experience with basic hand and power tools and/or basic metalworking
