PRIMARY PURPOSE:
It is the primary responsibility of the Labor Relations Partner to facilitate the intake processing, tracking, handling of fact finding and related hearing of issues, settlement of or preparation of grievances for arbitration through the contractually obligated dispute resolution channels. This position will provide advice and counsel to managers and HRBPs on the effective navigation of labor relations matters, application of collective bargaining agreement provisions and grievance handling that proactively addresses operational issues or concerns related to organized employee populations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer and conduct meetings between workers, supervisory/managerial personnel and labor union representatives to investigate and resolve grievances.
- Formulate potential avenues and settlement options to business units that assist in achieving business objectives or significantly mitigate potential liability based on extensive analysis and experience.
- Work collaboratively with union partners, the Labor Strategy Department and property leadership to guide the timely and effective resolution of grievances and potential arbitrations to ensure consistency in decision making and outcomes to reduce potential liability for the organization. In collaboration with Labor Strategy, facilitate the creation of settlement agreements with Labor organizations to include Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs) on behalf of the company.
- Participate as subject matter expert on internal project teams relating to issues such as consolidation of functions and reorganization of functions where represented employees are impacted.
- Collect, analyze and investigate labor relations policies and procedures used within the organization to determine alignment of process and approach across the organization.
- Maintain accurate and complete database regarding grievances and arbitrations throughout the properties and corporate entities.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested.
REQUIRED:
- Three (3)+ years of human resources generalist or related experience with strong preference for specific experience in labor relations and dispute resolution processes.
- Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality, business administration, human resources or related field or equivalent experience.
PREFERRED:
- Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
