What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Marketing position at Miami Marlins?
Position Summary:
Marketing Manager is a key member of the marketing team responsible for organizing brand marketing campaigns and activations of the Miami Marlins and loanDepot park, including the planning and execution of traditional media plans involving TV, Radio, OOH and Print. This role collaborates closely with other departments as well as external agencies and other vendors on the execution of the marketing team’s various strategies and initiatives.
Essential Functions:
- Organize and contribute to annual planning for brand marketing campaigns and initiatives
- Lead the development of weekly brand marketing plans across paid, trade, rights holder and institutional assets
- Schedule and traffic traditional media to ensure timely advertising rotation (print, radio, TV, OOH, etc.)
- Monitor media relations to receive confirmation and affidavits that all media is running as promised. Collaborate with other departments to facilitate brand marketing support requests for upcoming promotions and initiatives
- Produce internal reporting and recap materials to document brand campaign performance and key takeaways
- Manage creative requests for campaigns, including production of well-defined creative briefs to guide creative team development of brand marketing assets
- Organize recurring meeting agendas by aligning with internal departments on updates, priority initiatives and action items
- Assist with the creation and administration of all media contracts
- Identify and organize trade media opportunities
- Assist with the maintenance of media budget and process all invoices, secure performance back-up in accordance with media plan
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Creative thinker that can organize 10 projects at once on a daily basis
- Strong organizational, time-management, verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong presentation skills and attention to detail
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and adhere to deadlines
- Coachable and possesses a positive attitude
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule (holidays, weekends, evenings)
- Highly self-motivated
Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field
- A minimum of 3 years professional work experience
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Experience in sports marketing or live entertainment
- Familiarity with media planning preferred
- Understanding of and experience within the South Florida market
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
