Location Description: Michael Foods, Inc. located in Flandreau, South Dakota is one of the oldest cities in the state known as the "Garden Spot of the Dakotas". Flandreau is one of the fastest growing urban areas that allows luxury of small town living with convenient access to products and services of a larger city. Our location produces pasterurized eggs. The HR Repesentative is responsible for a wide-range of duties including communication to employees, employee recognition and events, employee tracking, benefits, and supporting the site leader. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administers various human resources programs and functions (i.e. baby gifts and postings, service awards, job posting, recognition, leave of absences, attendance, vacations, calendars, employee meals, postings, holiday boxes, turkeys, part-time farms list, birthday presents for farms, marquee, track gift cards and Wakefield bucks, etc.)
- Performs administrative duties as needed (answering phones, photocopying, faxing, etc.)
- Compile, update and generate departmental reports on personnel related issues (audits, etc.)
- Co-create the monthly newsletter.
- Enter new employees.
- Assists with training programs (designing Power Point presentations, room set-up, etc.)
- Provides back-up to payroll functions and filing.
- Provide back-up for purchase orders, egg sheets, and internal applications.
- Provides back-up to the receptionist duties and UPS.
- Provides back-up with staffing, interviewing, hiring, and orientation.
- Provides backup to taking mail to the post office.
- Responsible for new hire benefit enrollments, annual enrollments, and insurance questions.
- Performs other work-related functions such as organizing company events and supporting various plant teams and projects as needed.
- Assist employees as needed.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Problem solving, communication, creativity and interpersonal skills a must.
- Able to work independently.
- Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher and Print Shop)
- Knowledge of UltiPro payroll system is helpful but not required.
- Excellent oral and written skills.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Able to juggle a multitude of tasks.
- Must be professional in dealing with personnel issues including confidential information.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
