Tire Mold Design Engineer
Michelin is hiring!
Mission :
To support tire mold design and manufacturing for concept, development, and original equipment tire products, while ensuring that the mold definition and integration of the mold components respects the tire definition and conditions for the tire curing equipment.
Desired Skills / Experience :
- CAD 3D Solid Modeling, Drawings. CATIA experience preferred, but not essential
- Creating / maintaining Bill of Materials
- Mechanical Engineering knowledge and experience (for understanding curing press / tire mold interface.)
- Root Cause Analysis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer focus
- Continuous improvement mindset
Key expected achievements :
- Ensure that the mold definition and technology match the needs of our internal Partners.
- Provide manufacturing / design data on time for users (e.g. NC Programmers, mold manufacturing processes).
- Effectively collaborate and foster design-for-manufacturing expertise in co-development activities for new tire product launches as well as concept / development tires.
- Support new mold products and process industrialization activities.
- Support new business activities (outside of tire mold design) that require design / engineering support.
- Effectively answer mold engineering support requests from North American tire manufacturing plants.
- Effectively adapt and apply problem-solving tools.
- Adapt design methods for new mold technologies that are aimed at delivering improved tire performances.
- Minimal travel mostly domestic but possibly international.
