What are the responsibilities and job description for the Continuous Improvement Engineer position at Micross Components?

Summary:

This position can be located out of our Apopka, FL, or Manchester, NH, facilities.


Primary responsibilities are to support product and process improvement through requirement intake to customer delivery. Partner with all functions to improve methods, process, and procedures that drive performance to our customers. Use Lean Six Sigma (LSS) as the primary strategy method to improve.


The main objectives of the Continuous Improvement Engineer are:

  • Lead continuous improvement projects with multiple functional teams
  • Maintain a value stream map that is representative of the business that models current performance for project prioritization.
  • Identify areas of opportunity within our business using key process indicators.
  • Build a business routine within the site to measure, monitor, track, and report out progress of critical projects.
  • Partner with process engineering in root cause analysis of production issues (rework, scrap, etc.) to compel yield improvement, implementing process control, and waste reduction.
  • Train site personnel on basic Lean Six Sigma principles to assist in waste identification.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead continuous improvement activities for implementation into operations/business processes
  • Teach, train and lead work-cells in adopting continuous process improvement initiatives
  • Collect, analyze, present and disseminate data in support of facility-wide improvement/LSS program
  • Operate as an Agent of Change to lead Micross in successful adoption and implementation of LSS program
  • Amend and draft procedures, as required, to integrate LSS initiatives into broader Micross Quality Systems
  • Participate in a variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies
  • Travel expected at 30%
  • Build meaningful and productive relationships with business partners (e.g. Operations, Sales, and Process Engineering)
  • Proactively participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
  • Generate positive energy – motivate others to build a positive team spirit
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of employees
  • Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures
  • Comply with all quality and ITAR policies, practices and procedures
