Job Posting for Accountant II at Mid-America Conversion Services LLC
Position Overview
Under general supervision responsible for applying accounting principles, practices and concepts to varied assignments including recording, classifying and examining data records in support of the DUF6 project sites. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities of support in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:
Functional:
Utilizes learned techniques to carry out a sequence of related accounting tasks
Prepares, records, analyzes, reports, and documents accounting transactions
Records accounting entries and produces statements assessing the profitability of operations for management
Prepares account and bank reconciliations
Uploads and tracks all financial accruals/costs monthly
Prepares journal entries and maintains ledgers
Prepares Kentucky and Ohio sales and use tax returns
Utilizes current Kentucky and Ohio regulatory and administrative requirements to ensure sales and use tax compliance
Assigns general ledger account numbers and determines taxability/exemption from sales and use tax with regard to purchase requisitions
Compiles information for posting to the general ledger and assists in preparation of invoices
Tracks and records miscellaneous cash receipts
Prepares intra-company billings
Serves as a backup resource in the maintenance of the financial statement report writer
Job Requirements Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
6 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
