Position Summary
Convey the Mid-State Technical College brand through visual storytelling, including the ability to use an array of video, audio, and editing techniques to be used in retention and engagement efforts through publications, social media and broadcast media. This role will conceptualize ideas, create storyboards, collaborate on scripting, scout venues, and produce and publish photography and video. The Multimedia Specialist is an integral part of the College's marketing and communication strategy.

Duties & Responsibilities
Create high-quality multimedia storytelling using photography, videography, animation, web graphics and typography that accurately informs, entertains and engages target audiences for our students following the College's brand guidelines.

Create expertly edited videos and photography.

Generate ideas for new videos, storyboard concepts, social media content, draft scripting and collaborate on finalized script, film and conduct interviews with internal and external stakeholders, gather necessary b-roll footage, and edit videos to meet the College's standards and needs.

Organize, manage, schedule, produce and edit video collateral including budget creation and oversight.

Suggest and implement ideas for new multimedia content and placement that will help the College recruit and engage students.

Video post-production, including video editing in Adobe Premiere, or similar editing software, Adobe After Effects, graphics, audio mixing and color correction.

Develop, update, and maintain large scale promotional video walls, including the Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering Technology and Apprenticeship (AMETAĂ) Center.

Provide consultation for internal stakeholders regarding best practices and technology applications for multimedia production and general audio-visual equipment use.

Responsible for closed captioning and currency of compliance standards affecting video.

Monitor assigned projects to ensure that goals and objectives are completed on time and on budget.

Organize, maintain and archive video assets.

Engage and actively participate with Mid-State Teams and their objectives and goals.

Handle highly confidential and sensitive information appropriately.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in media studies, communications, marketing, or related field required. Combination of associate degree in related field and occupational experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree will be given consideration.

Three to five years of professional experience in rapidly designing, producing and editing video, audio and multimedia content required. Experience in an educational setting and incorporating culturally diverse populations into content preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects or other video editing tools. Final Cut Pro knowledge is helpful.

Ability to expertly operate mid-to-high level video cameras, microphones, and lighting.

Currency in field and technology is critical.

Must possess excellent attention to detail, problem resolution, organizational, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.

Compensation is dependent upon experience and qualifications.
