Job Summary
This position assists with the operation and support of Middle Georgia State University's audio/visual equipment and collaboration systems on all campuses. In addition, the position provides production support for MGA events and supports academic units with all audio/visual needs. This position is primarily based on the Macon campus but will require travel to all MGA campuses.
Responsibilities
Duty 1 -
Trains staff on audio/visual and collaborative system use cases, setup, and maintenance.
Duty 2 -
Maintains and repairs audio/visual equipment across all campuses.
Duty 3 -
Understands and supports video conferencing and video capture.
Duty 4 -
Provides production planning and support for university events.
Duty 5 -
Assist with managing and maintaining distance learning and campus collaboration platforms.
Duty 6 -
Develops written and in-person training for faculty and staff on collaboration systems.
Duty 7 -
Installs or assists in installing A/V systems.
Duty 8 -
Troubleshoots and diagnoses A/V system problems.
Duty 9 -
Assist with the oversight of all video conferencing and external audio/visual needs for academic classes and events.
Duty 10 -
Recommends and/or performs minor maintenance to correct problems based on knowledge of system operations.
Duty 11 -
Occasionally, assist technical staff on projects, AV issues, and other day-to-day operations.
Duty 12 -
Performs with other assigned duties that support the IT Services Manager.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of a wide variety of audiovisual systems and PC/MAC operations.
Other Required Qualifications
Occasionally, may be required to support university events after hours.
Required Experience
Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage resources and time.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Advance knowledge of user applications such as Microsoft Office/Office 365
Preferred Experience
Experience with streaming and live event setup
At least two years of audiovisual related experience
Other Preferred Qualifications
Aptitude for the adoption and understanding of new technologies.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of the installation, maintenance and repair of computer hardware, software and peripherals.
Knowledge of the installation, maintenance, repair and operation of audio/visual equipment.
Knowledge of customer support principles and practices.
Skill in decision making and problem solving.
Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
Skill in oral and written communication.
