GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
The Associate Director of Marketing will develop and implement a multi-channel marketing plan to build brand awareness, attract prospective students, and build engagement with current students, employees, alumni, and other stakeholders. The position will ensure brand consistency and assist in developing and growing the Marketing and Communications department.
The Associate Director of Marketing will oversee the Marketing branch of the Marketing and Communications department, and manage a team including those responsible for design, social media, photo/video, printing, and copywriting.
Essential Functions
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
SCHEDULE : Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some evenings and weekends.
RETIREMENT : Pension Eligible

Essential Functions
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides leadership of the strategic direction and implementation of marketing strategies and tactics for all areas of the College to support its mission and strategic goals.
- Collaborates with College stakeholders on requests for marketing materials, providing counsel on best ways to promote projects and boost attendance at events.
- Serves as main reviewer and approver of designed collateral, video projects, and printed and promotional materials to ensure brand consistency. Develops and maintains database of promotional and branded materials.
- Collaborates with departmental colleagues to develop collateral based on needs of the department and internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversees the College’s social media presence across all platforms, guiding the effort to implement new and alternative ways to enhance the College's overall social networking presence and experience.
- Leads the development of content and delivery of e-mail marketing campaigns for internal and external stakeholders under the direction of College leadership Campus-wide.
- Develops comprehensive plans to support College-wide events including through the creation of promotional materials and event announcements, and through direct participation.
- Maintains the student texting platform utilized to communicate with new and prospective students and develops guidelines for approved users.
- Serves as main point of contact for the College’s media buying agency, marketing consultant, and other vendors.
- Provides and reports on measurements of success of marketing efforts to College leadership, including social media and e-mail marketing campaigns and paid advertising using a combination of analytic tools.
- Directly supervises the Creative Services Manager and Social Media and Marketing Strategist, and is responsible for their training and performance evaluations.
- Oversees the College’s in-house printing shop via direct supervision of the Manager of Printing and Communications Support.
- Assists with reviewing the departmental budget for the purchase of marketing-related software and materials.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree;
- Five (5) years’ experience in marketing or advertising; and
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience working in higher education, government, or at an advertising or marketing agency;
- Experience with the development of printed materials;
- Ability to maintain a complex budget;
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to balance many projects at once and meet tight deadlines;
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work with a diverse population; and
- Knowledge and experience with Adobe Suite.
