Job Posting for Branch Manager at Midwest Equipment Rental & Sales
Midwest Equipment Rental & Sales offers an extensive selection of rental equipment and tools with two locations in Northern Illinois. Items range in variety from handheld power tools, to small gas-powered equipment, to skidsteers and loaders. The Branch Manager will work with owners and management to develop business strategies, budgets, and goals. They will be responsible for implementing these as well as overseeing and directly participating in day-to-day business operations with special focus on business development and customer service. Some level of mechanical skill and knowledge is required to successfully perform job duties. This is a salaried position and will require working inside and outside of normal business hours including many weekends, with the possibility of responding to occasional after-hours emergencies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Meet with owners and management on a regular basis to develop and review business strategies, financials, and goals.
Focus on constant improvement of the business including products, services, appearance, and financials.
Focus on business development and increasing gross sales.
Manage staffing and employee scheduling.
Oversee and actively participate in customer service tasks including answering customer phone calls, helping customers determine the proper tool or equipment for their project, quoting rental rates, writing rental contracts, and showing customers how to safely operate equipment.
Oversee and actively participate in equipment repair/maintenance and shop operations.
Occasionally respond to after-hours emergencies by phone and in-person.
Previous business management experience is required
Must have a valid US drivers license with a clean driving record
Some experience towing trailers up to 14,000 lbs preferred
Some extent of small engine knowledge/experience is required
Must pass drug screen prior to employment and additional screens throughout employment
Must be able to speak, understand, and write English clearly and fluently
Must be physically able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs on a regular basis
Position is subject to a criminal background check
