Description
Purpose:
Represents Midwest Machinery for the sale of agricultural, compact construction, and turf equipment as well as aftermarket solutions to new and existing accounts. Consistently exhibits Midwest Machinery Companys core values of Commitment, Passion, Progressiveness, Integrity, and Value Delivery.
Responsibilities:
o Represents the company for the sale of machinery to area defined customer base
o Proactively grows customer base in assigned territory and follows up on potential leads
o Maintains current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment potentially saleable by the dealership
o Monitors competitive activity/products and timely communicates it accordingly
o Maintains all customer information in assigned territory
o Knows and follows a defined sales process
o Achieves sales goals as determined by the company
o Maintains assigned company vehicles and equipment
o Conducts product field demonstrations
o Monitors trends in customers sales and aftermarket business activities and timely communicates to sales manager
o Maintains current knowledge of financing/warranty/service options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods
o Attends applicable sales training events/seminars
o Maintains current knowledge of used equipment values and ability to evaluate properly for trading purposes
o Assists other sales/service/parts staff in identifying potential customers and completing sales
o Interacts in a positive and respectful manner with customers and fellow employees
o Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
o High School Diploma/GED; Associates or Bachelors Degree in business or marketing preferred; 1 years sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
o Knowledge of agricultural or turf equipment and farming or operational practices required
o Basic business knowledge and math skills
o Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
o Excellent customer relationship and negotiating skills
o Ability to analyze and interpret basic sales reports
o Ability to use a forklift/skid loader preferred
Physical, Mental and Other Requirements:
o Frequent bending and stooping
o Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
o Ability to work flexible hours
o Climbing/using ladders
o Valid drivers license with an insurable driving record required
o Must pass a pre-employment background study and credit check
