The Sheet Metal Fabricator is responsible for the design, layout, making of templates and fabricates sheet metal parts as required. This role creates fabrications without drawings or instructions for unique applications. Shapes welded pieces to produce proper fit and contours. Operate various shears, press brakes, spot welders and other fabrication equipment as required to create sheet metal parts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Operates press brake and sheet metal folder according to specifications and in a safe manner.
- Work to close tolerances as specified or required by the machine design.
- Perform dressing and grinding operations as required for fit and appearance.
- Recommend improvements for area product and processes.
- Read drawings containing multiple views and sections.
- Design, layout, make templates and fabricate sheet metal parts as required.
- Shape welded pieces to produce proper fit and contours.
- Create fabrications without drawings or instructions for unique applications.
- Demonstrate personal leadership; actively participate in or lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
- Job report labor correctly and in a timely manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Skills/Experience:
- 5 to 7 years of related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous operation of various shears, press brakes, spot welders and other fabrication equipment as required to create sheet metal parts.
- Ability to understand and support Company philosophies, goals and directions including ISO 9001 and 14001 policies and procedures.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress / emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent knowledge.
- Relevant technical school training is preferred.
