Boca Raton, FL Legal Assistant
Boca Raton, Florida multi-state insurance defense firm seeks experienced legal assistant with 3 years litigation/scheduling experience to assist attorneys in all phases of litigation. Experience with Scheduling and E-filing is required. First party property defense experience preferred.
Job Duties:
- Heavy scheduling: Schedule depositions, court appearances, hearings, telephone conferences, meetings, adjournments, response dates.
- Communications with court officials, opposing counsel, clients, and experts.
- E-filing and E-service (State & Federal)
- Maintain calendar for assigned attorneys: Enter court appearances, motion return dates, mediations, IMEs, all adjournments dates, etc.
- Case management in document management system and client portal.
- Answer and direct telephone calls.
- New files: Obtain extensions, draft letters to clients.
- Maintain excel spreadsheets.
- Draft/Prepare notices and various documents.
- Draft/Respond to discovery.
- Additional administrative duties.
