About The Internship
The Milken Institute is seeking a part-time Intern to provide support to the Human Resources (HR) team. The Intern will work in-office 3-days per week (Tuesday through Thursday), 8-hours per day, reporting to the Associate Director of Human Resources. The internship will last 1-year maximum with potential to become a permanent placement.
For the candidate with strong intellectual curiosity, extraordinary work ethic and drive to achieve, this is an opportunity to assist with the delivery of HR projects, policies and programs. A s a member of the HR team, you will a ct as liaison to other HR functions to ensure achievement of business objectives.
Responsibilities
We are interested in qualified candidates who are eligible to work in the United States. Please note, we are not sponsoring visas at this time, being authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment.
This position will work three (3) days per week reporting in-person to your respective office location (Tuesday – Thursday). Please understand, this schedule is subject to change in the Institute’s sole discretion.

Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties
- Provide clerical and administrative support
- Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies)
- Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc.)
- Maintain filing system and overall confidentiality levels associated with performing duties such as preparation of draft agendas, and other documents (as required)
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
- Respond to candidates queries
- Submit background checks for processing
- Post, update and remove job ads from job boards and careers pages
- Participate in organizing company events
- Partner with the Associate Director to expand HRIS functions
- Assist with updating and maintaining the employee Intranet page
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or similar field preferred
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and efficient organizer
- Excellent ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to discreetly handle sensitive and confidential information
- Organized, with a well-establish process of planning workload; efficient and resourceful
- Experience as a Staff Assistant or similar junior HR role is a plus
- Experience with MS Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management, organization, and project skills
- Detail oriented
- Strong interpersonal skills / able to comfortably and pleasantly deal with a variety of people
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Human Resource Management background, highly desired
- Experience using ADP is a plus
