About the Position
The Milken Institute is seeking a copywriter and content creator with experience in a variety of digital formats. The individual in this role will work directly with the Marketing and Communications team to help shape the company’s social media presence and strategy with a focus on growing our non-US audiences.
Must be passionate about social media with an understanding of how to build a community and how content travels on each platform. This role will have the opportunity to offer creative solutions as well as blend strategic thinking and problem-solving with hands-on execution.
Responsibilities
- Create content for social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Vimeo
- Adapt complex research topics for online/digital audiences
- Write concise, polished copy consistent with the organization’s tone
- Monitor social media and industry landscape for current trends and opportunities
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communications team members to develop social media-focused campaigns connected to broader marketing/communication goals
- Monitor online conversations on Milken Institute-owned social media channels and respond to users/community
- Understand news and trends in our key markets and constituencies by conducting independent research
- Create engaging CTAs and headlines that will help drive engagement and CTRs
- Copyedit, proofread, and fact-check materials for digital media
- Track engagement and other KPIs on all social channels, using data to inform ongoing content strategy
- Support events hosted by the Milken Institute through live coverage, audience engagement, and real-time content creation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, journalism or communications, or business preferred
- 3-5 years in social media, digital marketing, or other relevant experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong work ethic
- Attention to detail, both in the written word and visuals
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize various responsibilities and consistently meet deadlines
- Flexibility and responsiveness to pivot based on changes in trends, engagement, and organization priorities
- Ability to work with others, as well as independently and autonomously
- Experience in creating content for non-US audiences is a plus
Working Conditions & Travel Requirements
This position will work in a professional office environment. This person will also be required to travel occasionally to other offices and/or venues to assist with events as needed, requiring occasional work outside of traditional hours. International along with domestic travel is possible.

This position will be working a hybrid model, where you will be expected to report to your respective office location 3-days per week (Tuesday - Thursday), this is subject to change.
