Business Continuity Specialist
Reporting to the firm’s BCM Program Manager, we are currently seeking a Business Continuity Professional with experience in the financial industry to join the team. This role involves ensuring the resilience and continuity of our organization’s operations against all forms of disruptions.
Responsibilities:
Maintain the Business Continuity Management (BCM) program incorporating business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident/crisis management.
Work with cross-departmental support staff to develop, maintain and execute incident management procedures.
Oversee the development and execution of disaster recovery testing, ensuring that critical business applications/services can be promptly resumed in the event of a disruption.
Help develop and test business continuity plans, ensuring plans are periodically updated and improved.
Maintain the alert notification and automated runbook systems for the firm.
Help implement BCM software to conduct risk analysis and business impact analyses to identify critical areas and prioritize continuity efforts.
Communicate and coordinate business continuity procedures across various organizational units to foster a culture of preparedness and responsiveness.
Provide training and guidance on business continuity and disaster recovery processes to all staff, ensuring a clear understanding of their roles in the respective plans.
Ensure BCM Program aligns with regulatory requirements and guidelines and work with cross-departmental staff to respond, in kind, to audits, assessments and questionnaires.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
5 years of experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, risk management, and a working knowledge of IT infrastructure in the financial industry.
A minimum of bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Information Technology, or a relevant field.
Experience in drafting, testing and implementing plans in a complex organizational and technical environment.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to relay concepts to diverse audience groups.
Demonstrable project management and good organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with regulatory Business Continuity Management guidelines in multiple regions is a plus.
Proficiency in using a BCM software is a plus.
Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or similar industry certification is a plus.
Some weekend and evening work, particularly in response to urgent business continuity needs or during disaster recovery testing periods is required. Some travel to regional offices may also be required.
