MBS Solutions has the immediate need of Packers on 1st Shift, in the Dillsburg/Dover/Mechanicsburg, PA Area.
JOB TITLE - Packer
INDUSTRY - Aluminum Specialist and Manufacturing; Extruding
PAY RATE - @$17.50/Hour
LOCATION:
Dillsburg/ Dover/ York/ Mechanicsburg, PA Surrounding Area
SHIFT:
- 1st Shift- 6AM-6PM | Rotating Schedule
**4 days one week, w/ weekend off; Three days 2nd week, working weekend. Every other weekend off! Schedule is completed for entire year. **
OVERTIME: Potential for OT, as needed

POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Packer, you will be responsible for the visual inspection and pack extrusions utilizing bands, plastic, cardboard, paper and/or shrink wrap in various sized bundles per customer specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES | RESPONSIBILITIES: (Includes but not limited to the following)-
- Repetitively lift aluminum extrusions of lengths up to forty feet and weighing up to seventy-five pounds from metal basket carriers to packing conveyor.
- Gather all material needed for framing bundles, such as but not limited to: tape, stretch wrap cardboard, paper, banding, etc.
- Visually inspect metal while forming bundles looking for burrs, scratches, chips, gouges, dents, bubbles, die lines, etc.
- Ensure all pieces meet or exceed customer specifications.
- When material is questionable, contact foreman, supervisor or inspector for approval.
- Assemble bundles per foreman's instructions utilizing packing materials to meet customer specifications.
- Assist and/or operate cut back saw station and acts as saw helper at the press.
- Lift metal from racks and return after cutting.
- Ensure all cuts are made to meet customer specifications.
- Record appropriate piece count or weigh count daily.
- Records time it takes to pack a bundle.
- Push baskets on wheels into or out of workstations.
- Carry scrap metal to scrap cart.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area including general housekeeping of the work area upon completion of a repair, project, etc.
- Assists with general housekeeping of the Shipping area.
- Performs inspection and maintains quality standards.
- Completes any other necessary paperwork or documentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), is preferred.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers. Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measures or rulers.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: As the employee, you are able to meet the requirement of working entire scheduled duration of the 12-hour shift. The employee will be regularly required to talk and hear; frequently required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will frequently lift and or move up to 50lbs. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
