JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Machinery Set-Up Technician
FLSA: Non-Exempt, Full-time
Safety Sensitive Position: Yes
Position Purpose:
This position assembles new machinery and lawn and garden equipment per assembly instructions, lubricates them, and sets them for use and cleans up, reconditions, and prepares trade-ins for resale. This position also does equipment detailing as well as repairs customer lawn and garden machines and other small engines and performs light mechanical repairs and procedures. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service by responding promptly in a professional and positive manner to customer needs and complaints and provides support to other departments as needed.
Qualifications:
- Service technician certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain
- Ability to drive and maneuver recreational vehicles and equipment, and on occasion farm machinery or equipment
- Ability to repeatedly lift items weighing upwards to 75 pounds, repeatedly climb up and down equipment, and be on your feet for extended periods of time
- Excellent customer service, communication, and people skills, including ability to handle conflict and escalating situations
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent organization skills and ability to maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Critical thinker who is able to resolve problems and make independent judgment calls with little or no supervision
Essential Job Functions:
- Assemble new machinery per assembly instructions; then lubricate and set for field use
- Assemble lawn mowers; then lubricate and set for mowing
- Occasionally, may unload farm machinery
- Clean up trade-in machinery, recondition it, and prepare it for resale
- Maintain, repair, and service customer lawn and garden machines and other small engines as needed
- Perform light mechanical repairs, procedures, and inspections
- Clean and lubricate parts
- Electronically record details of repairs made and parts used, and follow all instructions for maintaining inventory
- Run, maneuver, navigate, and/or drive vehicles or equipment
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
- Obtain/Maintain and apply all certifications in line with company policy and/or pertaining to job duty
- Regular attendance and punctuality is required as well as some flexibility in work schedule to meet customer and/or dealership needs and seasonal overtime as needed
- Occasionally, may instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures as required
- Always conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of MILLER SELLNER
- Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
- Provide support to co-workers and other departments
- Completes all duties as assigned in a professional and efficient manner
- Ability to operate all equipment used in this position
- Must meet physical requirements for this position

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
