Essential Job Functions
- Continue to perform current job functions
- Must be flexible with work hours – work both department shifts (1st & 2nd)
- Demonstrates working knowledge of department operating systems
- Maintains orders, work areas and stock locations in a safe, clean, and organized manner
- Reports unsafe or potentially unsafe hazards to any member of management and assists in the solutions of issues
- Engages in problem solving and performance management within the department
- Assists Supervisor(s) and works in a lead technical capacity to maintain workflow in department – ability to allocate resources appropriately
- Provides training and operational support to the department
- Maintains high-quality work environment by sharing knowledge and experiences so team members are motivated to perform at their highest level
- Keeps management team informed of potential and/or existing concerns
- Leads by example in performing core warehouse/distribution job elements by meeting or exceeding performance expectations, following health and safety guidelines, job accuracy, and following company and regulatory requirements
- Participates in and supports the development and implementation of process improvement projects and leads test cycles to challenge current practices, improve system efficiency, enhance customer service, and maintain compliance
- Use technical knowledge of MilliporeSigma products and acquired knowledge of state and federal regulations and MilliporeSigma business practices to respond to inquiries and determine if orders can be packaged/shipped safely and compliantly
- Effectively uses reports and checks priorities to plan and coordinate orders to maintain high service levels
- Troubleshoot problems within the department – including root cause analysis and development of solutions to avoid future occurrences
- Assist with testing changes in systemic programs and operational processes
- File all documentation as required in designated area(s)
- Ability to analyze and maintain data within all applicable systems
- Ability to identify and correct discrepancies between applicable systems
- Ability to run the nightly close procedures for the department
- Perform quality checks or audits to ensure procedures are being followed correctly
- Engages with employees yet keeps all employee information confidential
- Exemplary attendance and adherence to schedule
- Maintains and coordinates the Dispatch Desk
- Apply and accepted to Spill Team
- Apply and accepted to DEA vault access
- Apply and accepted to Emergency Response Team (ERT)
Experience:
· Previous leadership experience desired but will not be required
· Additional operational experience in a Distribution Center or in Chemical Manufacturing is preferred
Essential and Critical Skills:
· Critical: Understanding how to manage, motivate, and develop employees.
· Critical: Time management skills. The Distribution Center is an extremely fast paced environment.
· Critical: Communication skills, verbal, listening and written.
· Critical: General knowledge of process improvement techniques and basic change concepts.
· Ability to train staff on new or existing processes and/or procedures.
· Understanding of overall DC operations.
· Knowledge of hazardous storage, and shipping regulations.
· Problem solving capabilities, able to think fast and make quick rational decisions.
· Ability to operate a PC and working knowledge of word processing, and spreadsheet software. SAP preferred.
