Description
As a Line Cook/Sauté in the Stackner Cabaret you will be responsible for the safe, timely production and service of sautéed hot food preparation including but not limited to fish, pork, beef, burgers, sandwiches, soups, sauces, stocks, vegetables and side items. The Line Cook/Sauté position is responsible for the quality and freshness of food products as outlined by the Kitchen Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all product is prepared properly and in a timely manner
- Maintaining a clean work station through the course of your shift
- Complete all daily tasks assigned
- Comply with health and sanitation standards
- Train in other areas of the kitchen as needed
- Organize, put away and rotate orders as needed
- Ensure all food is prepared, plated and served properly
- Ensure station is properly stocked for each service, prep lists and cleaning lists are followed.
- Work as part of a team and uphold the standards of the organization at all times
- General cleaning and maintenance of work areas
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- One year of casual, upscale or comparable line experience
- Previous experience working a high-volume Line Cook, Grill station in a casual to high end setting
- Knowledge of proper cooking techniques and temping of proteins
- Knowledge of proper cooking technique for pastas and sauces
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, basic knife skills, weights and measurements
- Knowledge of proper food sanitation and ability to obtain manager level food sanitation certification
- General knowledge and how to operate all kitchen equipment including stoves, ovens, and deep fryers
- Must be able to read and follow recipes
- Ability to stand for a minimum of 6 hours and lift between 20-50 lbs. unassisted
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must be able to work well under pressure, all while exhibiting grace and good humor under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task
- Comfortable taking direction and feedback
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with a diverse group of staff members
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a collective team
- Must be available for weeknight and weekend work
- Ability to pass a background check in accordance with state and/or federal laws
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to stand for up to 6 hours at a time.
SCHEDULE
Must be available to work nights and weekends
