The Human Resources Manager will assist with a range of human resources functions such as payroll, benefits administration and employee relations to ensure the smooth operation of the Human Resources Department.
Responsibilities
- Coach and counsel managers and/or supervisors concerning human resource policies and procedures and employee relations; reviews and resolves issues.
- Conducts investigations into employee relations issues, recommends and implements discipline. Assists with field investigations as needed.
- Assist in bi-weekly payroll duties and related reporting, ensuring all relevant data for the Payroll processing (overtime, absenteeism, holidays, etc.)
- Liaison between field and PEO.
- Investigates and manages all unemployment claims. Review termination requests, gather information and maintain files on termination cases.
- Participates on mediation when required.
- Process terminations in compliance with multi-state regulations.
- Maintain knowledge of state specific payroll laws and regulations.
- Assist with questions from the team related with a sense of urgency and escalate as needed to the appropriate person.
- Support the Hiring Manager in reviewing resumes, conducting phone screens, scheduling interviews, checking references, and tracking the candidate’s status in the hiring process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and restaurant experience preferred.
- 4-6 years of Human Resources and Employee Relations experience, including working with HR processes and policies for a multi-state employer with a large hourly population and knowledge of California labor laws.
- Strong customer service skills, including the ability to build trusting partnerships across the business.
- Employee relations, employment law, compensation, performance management, and recruitment skills.
- Professional and confidential in all interactions with proven coaching and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Outstanding organizational skills; including the ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines, as well as multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) a plus.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
