What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Lead position at MindGeek Careers?

We are looking for an up and coming sales leader who is hungry and eager to make an impact. The Business Development Lead will be responsible for helping a team of Business Development Representatives generate new sales opportunities in key and emerging markets. This team plays a critical role in ensuring the success of its customers and the lead will help guide them to success. 

What you'll be doing:   

  • Build a pipeline of leads and help team members keep a healthy pipeline
  • Pitch decision makers in key and emerging markets via email, cold calling, and social media outreach
  • Be responsible for close your own deals and helping team members close theirs
  • Develop outreach strategies and pitches for different markets and verticals
  • Identify and develop new markets and verticals
  • Close warm leads generated at trade shows and conferences
  • Assist the Sales Manager in coaching and training team members to help them achieve their full potential

What you'll need to be successful:   

Must haves: 

  • Minimum 1 year in a team leadership position
  • Previous experience in client-facing digital media including, but not limited to, online advertising, media buying, affiliate marketing, or account management
  • Familiarity with online pricing models – CPM, CPC, CPA, etc.
  • Understanding of programmatic advertising and the digital advertising ecosystem
  • Strong understanding of digital media sales and publishing
  • Ability to work in a high stress, fast paced environment
  • Self-motivated, competitive, results-oriented, and responds strongly to incentives
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)
  • A minimum of technical understanding regarding HTML and webmaster analytic tools

Nice to Haves: 

  • The Trade Desk certification, Google Ads certification
  • Salesforce experience
