OVERVIEW:
Media Planners at Mindshare are part psychologists, part scientists, part artists, part entrepreneurs, and part politicians. We strategize how brands should communicate with people across the myriad of media channels, and how to do that differently from every other brand.
The Associate Director, Planning has the primary responsibility for supervising the media planning staff on assigned accounts. This job entails providing key strategic input for media plans and reviewing draft plans. You will maintain regular contact with mid-level clients and has the initial level of responsibility for account profitability and business development.
YOUR IMPACT:
- Maintain day to day client contact and agency contact regarding their area of responsibility
- Manages and directs the requests/projects for the group
- Oversees the development of objectives and strategies
- Oversees the development of plans and presentations
- Supervises the group in the interpretation of competitive and other research data
- Trains and evaluates Supervisors, Managers and Associates on the team
- May participate in department projects/committees
- Meets with vendors and agency partners
- Act as the liaison between internal teams as well as various partner vendors to ensure media performance
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's Degree in advertising, marketing, business administration or communication; OR equivalent professional work experience
- 5-7 years of media planning experience
- Knowledge of buying, planning, client presentation, and reporting
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload
- Ability to manage direct reports; prior management experience a plus
- Sense of procedure within a corporate environment
- Strong people skills
- Ability to present before vendors, clients, and fellow employees
- Proven ability to operate under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects
- Excel and PowerPoint skills are required

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $75,000 to $180,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
