SUMMARY
Under general supervision, participates in the K-12 Curriculum operations and activities of the District.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Performs necessary functions of kitting processes used in K-12 curriculum.- Receives, process, and issues warehouse stock to sites.
- Assures stock and warehouse facility is maintained in a safe, clean, orderly condition.
- Assists in training workers in filling, shipping and stocking supplies.
- Works independently, and assures that all safety rules, regulations and policies are observed; performs duties within scope of authority and training, and in compliance with MPS policies.
- Utilizes basic inventory control procedures to manage warehouse supplies, and store goods in the designated manner and areas; orders supplies as necessary.
- Monitors work site to assure that safety rules and regulations are adhered to, and that the work zone and all equipment are in safe operating condition.
- Travels to other school district facilities to deliver, pickup and resolve materials orders.
- Utilizes proper safety precautions in all work performed; cleans up spills and unsafe conditions in a timely manner and according to procedures.
- Recognizes, avoids, and reports unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries.
- Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with students, clients, visitors, and MPS staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment
- Enthusiastically promotes the Superintendent’s goals and priorities in compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, records and MPS information.
- Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis
- At times may be required to work outside normal business hours and work extended hours to accomplish requirements of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines
High School Diploma or GED equivalent; AND two (2) years of warehouse or shipping and receiving experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources.
Medical Examination: Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician.
Knowledge of:
- Warehouse operations and procedures including shipping, receiving, and issuing materials, proper and orderly storage, optimum space utilization, and stock inventory procedures.
- Materials, equipment, and supplies used as curriculum materials in the school district.
- Principles of record keeping, records management, and inventory control.
- Safety rules and health regulations.
- Occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Skill in:
- Operating a warehouse in a safe manner, in compliance with state and local regulations.
- Performing basic mathematical computations.
- Following verbal and written instructions and procedures.
- Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.
- Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with co-workers and clients.
- Following and maintaining safety standards.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota State Driver’s License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed indoors and outdoors at MPS facilities; requires constant physical efforts; may be exposed to safety hazards; safety precautions must be followed including use of safety equipment; a job in this category may require walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, and ability to frequently lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Eligibility for position is based on passing the required pre-placement exam.
