What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forestry Technician position at Minnesota City Jobs?

Performs intermediate skilled technical work assisting in forestry related programs such as the plant pest and reforestation programs, tree inspection in street right-of-ways and on public property, providing technical assistance to property owners and city departments on forestry topics, providing forestry and natural resource awareness through public education, and related work as apparent or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in urban forestry, forestry, horticulture, natural resources, or related field and moderate experience in
forestry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid MN driver’s license
- Proven work history identifying tree species and plant pests.
- MN DNR Certified Tree Inspector
- ISA Certified Arborists within two years of hire.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in urban forestry, forestry, horticulture, natural resources, or related field
