The City of Big Lake is accepting applications for the position of Police Sergeant. A Police Sergeant is a front-line supervisor for the Big Lake Police Department. They are responsible for providing supervision to police officers and working collaboratively with Police Administration. Tasks include administrative duties, responding to calls for service, conducting employee performance evaluations, attending to disciplinary matters, and other duties assigned.
Preferred Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement, Criminal Justice, or related field. - Previous leadership training: FBI-LEEDA, Northwestern Supervision of Police Personnel, MN BCA Leadership Certifications, MN Chief’s of Police Leadership Academy, etc. - Experience in a specialty assignment as an officer. Minimum Requirements: - Currently Peace Officer Licensure through MN POST Board - Associates/Technical degree with coursework in law enforcement, Criminal Justice, or related field - 3 years of Full-time law enforcement experience and previous satisfactory performance evaluations.
