Overview
Coordinates the work flow of providers by providing administrative support. Serves as the primary contact person for multiple providers. Performs routine and advanced administrative functions. Schedules and coordinates all surgical procedures and all other aspects of patient related appointments (outside referrals, tests, radiology, post-op, preoperative, etc.) while supporting and maintaining accuracy of scheduling functionality within hospital guidelines. Serves as patient advocate. Expedites care by overseeing patient scheduling, coordinating details for all phases of patient care. Ensures excellent customer service to all stakeholders, and assists with special projects as needed/assigned.
Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education: Medical Terminology Certificate and Basic Anatomy Certificate
Required License: 2 years in a medical office or hospital setting with strong emphasis on using and spelling medical terms. Must have strong computer skills and possess excellent customer service and phone skills.
Preferred License: None
Required Experience: Scheduling for surgery and radiology in Cerner and Allscripts.
