Patient Account Representative
Job Posting for Patient Account Representative at Missouri Heart Center - Missouri Cardiovascular Specialists
GENERAL OVERVIEW
Completes billing process on all visits including account follow up through collections or zero balance. Registers patients in computer, performs Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable entries. Works with patients, carriers, and staff for account resolution.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Key payment/adjustment information into online entry system.
- Work with insurance companies, patients, and other staff to follow-up on accounts until zero balance, turned over for collection, or refund requested.
- Assist with answering the telephone and provide information as requested.
- Maintain required billing records, reports, and files.
- Work with staff and physicians to resolve coding and error issues.
- Enter complete patient information and conduct appropriate research for missing information – using computer, interpreting diagnostic and procedural codes.
- Access and work on multiple systems and websites.
- Maintain strictest confidentiality.
- Perform all duties in exact accordance with policies, procedures, and regulations established by Missouri Cardiovascular Specialists.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with QuickBooks is preferred
- Experience with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Medical collection experience
- Medical office experience
- Proficiency with EMR systems
SCHEDULE
This position is 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. No weekends, no holidays.
