What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Assistant position at MIT?
OPERATIONS SUPPORT ASSISTANT, Student Financial Services (SFS), to coordinate the processing and reconciliation of all daily cashiering and deposits received at SFS and assist with customer service inquiries related to student accounts, student billing, tax forms, sponsor payments and veteran’s benefits. Will also provide support and backup for critical functions for the operations team.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years of experience, preferably student financial services or bursar experience at a higher education institution; expert-level knowledge of student account payments, including cashiering; demonstrated proficiency with student account systems (Banner preferred); excellent organizational and written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail with a focus on process improvement and analysis; proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues; discretion and judgment with confidential personal and financial information; ability and willingness to develop thorough understanding of multiple systems and processes; knowledge of Institute and federal and state rules and regulations; awareness of cultural diversity and ability to interact effectively with people of diverse backgrounds; ability to find resolutions for complex problems with varied stakeholders, set work priorities, and successfully balance workload in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
