Associate Attorney Job Summary
Mitchell - Handschuh Law Group is a boutique firm located in Atlanta, Georgia that focuses its practice on transportation-related legal matters. We handle a wide range of items for our clients including transactions, corporate governance, and litigation matters. Please note that we do not handle insurance defense matters. Mitchell - Handschuh is seeking an Associate Attorney to expand our team and to help with every facet of our practice. As an Associate Attorney, you will work with a team of attorneys to move each case forward collaboratively. Your tasks will include drafting legal documents, assisting with the discovery process, performing legal research, drafting and reviewing contracts, and much more. We are looking for someone who can aggressively represent our clients' interests, whether their goals are accomplished through litigation including pre-trial judgment or trial, negotiation, or alternative dispute resolution. Our ideal applicant has 1-4 years of civil litigation experience, preferably focused on business litigation. An interest in transportation law is a plus!

Location: Atlanta, GA
Associate Attorney Duties and Responsibilities
· Assist with pre-litigation related matters including demand letters
· Assist with drafting legal documents, including motions and pleadings
· Assist with the discovery process by administering depositions, drafting requests and responses, and reviewing documents
· Negotiate settlements, including through formal mediation
· Perform legal research
· Make court appearances as necessary
· Review, edit, and draft contracts
· Independently progress cases and juggle competing deadlines
· Communicate with clients and counsel
· Collaborate with other team members, including attorneys, paralegals, and interns
Associate Attorney Requirements and Qualifications
· Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
· Georgia Bar License
· Civil Litigation experience (1-4 years)
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Analytical skills
· Attention to detail
