Overview:
Mitcheltree Brothers Logging & Lumber, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, account management, and industrial lumber.
Duties/Description: Selling Industrial Hardwood lumber, Pallets/Skids/Crates/Boxes, Survey stakes, Softwood lumber/Plywood/OSB to various industries and manufacturers through out Western PA and Eastern Ohio.
- Maintain existing customer base and establish new customers/markets for our industrial wood products
- This job requires a lot of driving in order to find new customers/accounts as well as visiting current customers/accounts
- Keeping accurate records of places that you have visited and routinely engaging with current and potential customers
- Communication with our sawmill (MBL) and our fabrication shop (JF Mill) to help come up with pricing and process orders in a timely manner
- Basic understanding of a sawmill’s operation and how orders are processed throughout production.
- Strong communication and negotiating with our lumber suppliers (sawmills we purchase Softwood lumber, Plywood, & OSB from)
- Understanding the hardwood & softwood lumber market to establish accurate pricing to customers and knowing when to purchase softwood lumber for inventory.
Mandatory Skills:
- Awareness and knowledge of various industries and steel mills/other manufacturers throughout Western PA and Eastern OH.
- Being able to accurately read a tape measure to measure thickness/lengths of lumber, pallets, and boxes
- Basic understanding of blueprints
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, and driven to succeed
- Professional and team oriented, must be able to work independently and collaboratively with others
- Must have a valid driver license and reliable transportation
- Basic knowledge in technology-Microsoft Excel, Email, and Smart phone
- Answering phone calls, emails, and text messages in a timely manner
