A Continuous Improvement Coordinator, in Tacoma, WA is available at Milgard Windows and Doors. In this role, you will work closely with the Technical Services Manager to drive projects and upgrades out on the manufacturing floor. In addition, you will be responsible for kaizen event facilitation, project/event sustainment, standard work audits, MOS Board assistance, Job Instruction training and audits, and remedial training. This position serves to improve production processes and Lean methodologies within the operations and is a contributing factor to the success of Milgard. Hourly compensation starts at 27.00 per hour.

- Drive projects on Lean concepts throughout operations, such as 5S.
- Support and execute initiatives that align the business with MITER's Way of Operations.
- Coordinate and facilitate CI events, including planning, logistics, communication, data gathering, sustainment plan, report outs, etc.
- Drive sustainment and resolve implementation issues when necessary.
- Support, motivate, and coach team members in various departments on Lean initiatives.
- Collaborate with various departments to promote problem-solving and root-cause analysis.
- Conduct Standard Work audits and provide corrective feedback to employees, leads, and supervisors when required.
- Train new and existing JI Trainers. Conduct regular audits of the JI process and maintain records.
- Partner with CI Coordinator to ensure Standard Work documents are updated and posted regularly.
- Champion RHEO initiatives to improve production throughput and verify operator training.
- Conduct 5S audits and drive 5S improvements.
- Provide backup coverage for absences in the department to cover training or reports as required.
- Lead or Participate in Continuous Improvement activities as required.

- Support the CI efforts by facilitating cross-functional teams with 4-10 members.
- Provide guidance to the Location Trainers and CI Coordinator in accordance with the CI department goals.
Qualifications:
- Two plus years of experience in custom manufacturing and warehouse processes.
- Two plus years of experience in CI initiatives and projects.
- Demonstrated understanding of excellent customer service.
- Prior cross-functional team facilitation experience preferred.
- College degree preferred but may be substituted by relevant work experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Strong MS Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Computer literacy with the ability to learn new computer software programs.
- Sense of urgency and self-motivation; ability to work independently.
- Ability to motivate employees to achieve results.
- Must have proven employee development and team-building skills.
