Full Time Opportunity in Milgard's Shipping Department
Swing Shift: Monday - Friday (4:00 pm start time) $24.00 an hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must work safely and actively promote safety, by following Personal Protective Equipment standards and following safety procedures and policies. Must ensure that others adhere to safety procedures and wear PPE.
- Understands and follows quality guidelines. These guidelines cover several areas of the shipping operation, including (but not limited to) material handling, proper loading and securement procedures (as outlined on the quality audit), and follows proper inventory management and handling.
- Understand daily and weekly departmental needs and requirements, and can effectively direct employees to yield high quality and performance output.
- Must be able to understand and ensure labeling of all shipping related items – doors, screens, windows, custom items, MDF trim material, specialty items, samples, etc.
- Must understand all color codes, inventory logging procedures and clean inventory management
- Must understand truck loading procedures and train new employees. Understands proper load methods related to stop order, individual customer requirements, as well as space requirements. Can visualize truck at load startup to effectively plan spacing while following quality loading standards
- Assist Supervisor with closing duties. Can fill out proper paperwork and close out shipping dock as needed.
- Maintains smooth, productive operation in the absence of a supervisor.
- Moves straight truck equipment to and from dock area in safe manner.
- Must possess, display and use open and honest communication skills to keep team motivated and take corrective action as needed.
- Must display leadership skills by demonstrating appropriate problem solving skills, confidence in taking appropriate risks, as well as appropriate listening and interpersonal skills.
- Must have & maintain excellent attendance record as demonstrated by no written, formal discipline (disciplinary report, or DML) within the last 12 months
- Must have & maintain excellent work performance as demonstrated by no written, formal discipline (disciplinary report, or DML) within the last 12 months
- Operate any equipment as requested to perform job
- Maintains and cleans work area.
- Provides on-the-job training to new employees.
- Displays willingness to take on other duties or non-normal tasks as assigned, such as winter time dock procedures
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in warehouse environment, particularly window manufacturing preferred.
- Glass handling and/or glass knowledge a plus.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted
- Ability to self-manage and multi-task
- Ability to work in, and promote, a team environment
