Job Description Summary: The primary responsibility of the position is to prepare assigned regulatory reports in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with US GAAP and instructions from regulatory authorities, which requires in–depth knowledge of financial accounting and regulatory reporting, as well as understanding of the financial industry. The position will be responsible for regulatory reports across all entities under the Mizuho Bank Holding Company (BHC) and NY Branch of FBO Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1) General: Oversees the preparation and review of monthly/quarterly/annual and ad-hoc regulatory reports including, but not limited to, Federal Reserve reports (e.g. FFIEC 002, FFIEC 031, FR2420, FR2644, and FR2900), Department of Treasury reports (TIC Reports), Department of Commerce reports (e.g. BE-605, BE-15, and BE-125) and other ad-hoc internal reports Continue to improve the effectiveness of control processes Maintain and update EUC workpapers, procedure and inventory list and the desktop procedures manual to reflect changes in the regulatory requirements Monitor and ensure that changes in the reporting instructions made by the regulatory authorities are incorporated within the reports submitted Support and participate in regulatory reporting examinations, internal and external audits Responsible to work with other various departments to support regulatory reports enhancement projects and work with team to participate in end user testing Coordinate with multiple stakeholders across organization Support management and team members 2) Administrative: Prepare/review assigned reports to regulatory authorities with accurate financial information and in a timely manner, and maintain back-up supporting documents Prepare/review variance analysis for reports assigned, and understand the background of figures changed Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial/regulatory reporting requirements, as well as pertinent accounting standard changes within the regulatory reporting framework, and propose solutions as needed Interact with management, and various regulators for inquiries and surveys Promote assigned tasks and projects with minimum supervision Provide back-up support to other staff members, and train junior staff as needed 3) Policy: Review and update the internal procedures for reports assigned Create new policies and procedures as necessary 4) Technical Skills Required: MS-Excel (advanced), MS-PowerPoint (intermediate), MS-Access (basic), MS-Power BI (basic) 5) Management Responsibilities: Keep track of each assigned tasks and projects, and meet each deadline Minimum Job Requirements or Experience: Bachelor’s degree Extensive knowledge of regulatory reporting, including the preparation of FFIEC 002, FFIEC 031, FR2644, FR2900, TIC reports and BEA surveys. Strong knowledge of financial products (e.g. loans, deposits, securities, derivatives, money market products, repos etc.) Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in regulatory reporting area for US or foreign banks is required Excellent verbal and written communication skills US CPA, CFA or equivalent license is preferred  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required Strong analytical skills Proficiency in Alteryx or Power Bi is a big plus Other requirements Mizuho currently requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to work on-site (unless a legally-required accommodation or exemption has been approved).
