We are currently looking for an experienced HR Generalist for our corporate office in Suffern, NY. The HR Generalist is responsible in assisting the HR department with the daily functions including hiring and interviewing staff, administrating pay, benefits and leaves, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Consults with onsite managers and provides guidance on performance management and employee relations.
- Conduct pre-employment and onboarding procedures.
- Administer new employee on-boarding and orientation, including creating new hire paperwork necessary to complete payroll and enroll and administer benefit plans in an accurate and timely manner for full time employees.
- Maintain employee data and serve as backup to the payroll function. Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now a plus!
- Help develop and maintain programs to provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture.
- Help document and maintain company policy and communicate them effectively to employees upon request.
- Help implement and manage performance management and improvement system.
- Maintain employee personnel records, accurately recording all changes, including additions, compensation changes and terminations in a timely manner.
- Assisting with employee relations issues
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs.
- Respond to human resources-related inquiries.
- Process payroll in a timely manner, as requested.
- Provide information for Unemployment claims, as necessary.
- File and follow with Workers’ Compensation claims.
- Assisting in recruitment and selection as needed, including:
- Posting / Monitoring of employment ads on really and company website
- Interviewing interns or other staff, as requested
- Preparing offer letters for selected candidates, as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications for the position
- Associates degree in related field
- 3-5 years of HR experience
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
