Job Summary

The Recovery Services Supervisor is responsible for delivering peer recovery services to MnPRA participants in or seeking recovery, as well as providing weekly supervision and mentorship to other CPRS staff. The Recovery Services Supervisor shares their lived experience with men, women and families struggling with substance use disorder and connects them to community resources. This is a highly visible position both internally and externally, acting as a liaison between MnPRA, community partners, counties, and referral sites.


Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Outreach and Administration:
    • Maintain current community relationships, as well as build and leverage new ones
    • Collaborate with community partners to successfully deliver and grow services
    • Provide program tracking information and monthly updates regarding program successes
    • Establish connections and maintain partnerships with organizations supporting individuals and families with SUDs
  • Service Provider:
    • Provide direct services to individuals in the areas of outreach and engagement, personal assistance in the completion of daily living skills, and linkage to community supports
    • Meet face-to-face with the client to discuss routine recovery issues from a peer perspective
    • Share personal story of recovery and lived experiences in order to develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships
    • Provide education, advocacy and mentoring through self-disclosure of personal recovery experiences
    • Serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator to recovering individuals in order to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery
    • Engage peers in a culturally responsive way to build recovery skills that drive the peer to gain independent mastery over their own recovery
    • Provide transportation of the client as needed and if necessary to accomplish goals or to access treatment or support
  • Management of CPRS staff:
    • Continued mentorship and support of all Peer Recovery Support Staff
      • Weekly 1:1 meetings
      • Identify opportunities and new processes to ensure all staff are meeting billing requirements
      • Provide training and support to the teams to ensure compliance with applicable ethical requirements, appropriate boundaries, and the ability to articulate the unique supervisory requirements of the peer program.
      • Research, locate, and engage resources to build the staff’s team skills and ensure quality and appropriate supports for participants.
      • Performance Management: Monitors staff performance and institutes corrective action or training in order to bring performance to an acceptable level. Ensuring all billing requirements are being met and client engagements are within the appropriate scope of peer support services.

Personnel Supervised:

  • On-call CPRS staff

Required Skills & Experience (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Associate degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Hold a Peer Recovery Specialist - Reciprocal credential through the Minnesota Certification Board (or able to obtain certification within six months)
  • Personal experience with successful recovery for a minimum of two years prior to date of hire
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, relationship management, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make effective, sound, timely, and informed decisions independently
  • Self-starter, able to work independently
  • Ability to model appropriate boundaries and professionalism
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs, including; Word, Excel, Power Point

Salary : $47,500 - $60,100
