The duties include but are not limited to:

    Supervises all Transportation Department personnel and manages all available resources;
    Ensures that transportation for all eligible Mobile County students is provided in a safe and timely manner.
    Monitors and manages a program of maintenance for buses and all other vehicles in the system.
    Develops and adheres to annual operational budget.
    Assists in development and implementation of policy, rules, and regulations by which the Transportation Department is operated in accordance with existing laws.
    Executes progressive planning to conform with current trends and developments in the Transportation Department.
    Monitors preparation of accident reports for submission to the Executive Director of Student Support Services.
    Prepares reports and recommendation as required.
    Oversees all personnel actions and activities within the department.
    Maintains an active and effective safety program; ensures all personnel maintain appropriate Licenses and Certifications.
    Develops procedures to respond to public parent inquiries, complaints, and requests.
    Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Student Services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a Bachelors Degree with experience in supervision and management, preferably in pupil transportation.

Must have an Alabama Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and an Alabama School Bus Drivers License (BDL) or be able to obtain both within six months of assignment.

Must maintain good rapport with the department, the parents, the public, and other system personnel.

Must possess leadership and organizational abilities.

Must have official college transcript and evidence of experience on file to be considered for the position.
