Assignment Start Date: 4/22/2024

13 weeks | Varied | 8-12-hour shift | 40 hours guaranteed weekly

Perform radiographic exams, including Computed Tomography (CT), work independently in performing these modalities. Collaborate with radiologists, providers, and other technologists to improve patient care. Provides call services on a rotational basis. Apply previous computer experience to new applications for imaging and record keeping. May be required to travel to provide services at clinics throughout the Consortium. Understand that inadequate communication with the patient, provider, and radiologist can adversely affect patient health. Creatively works with other SEARHC staff to solve problems.

Responsibilities

Performs diagnostic CT exams of human anatomy. Places IVs for contrast injections. Follows protocols set by the radiologist. Performs daily QA/QC on CT equipment. Receives patients, explains procedures, and creates a safe environment for the patient through good communication skills. Accurately inputs pertinent medical information into EHR, RIS/PACS, and other systems as necessary. Is very familiar with power injectors and appropriate use. Understands various types of contrast media and their use.
Performs diagnostic x-ray examinations of human anatomy. Follows standard positions protocols, and views prescribed by SEARHC radiologists. Receives patients, explains procedures, and utilizes standardized techniques, settings, and positions to accomplish acceptable results.
Office Duties. Performs office jobs including, but not limited to: answering phones, scheduling patients’ exams, printing reports, retrieving charts, researching problems, ordering supplies, and helping radiologists and providers.
Responsible for QA and QC for SEARHC imaging modalities. Documents: CTDI and DLP, amount of contrast administered, exam performed, and other information as required by the Joint Commission standards

Experience/Education/Qualification

Experience:

Must have at least 2 years experience in Radiography
Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in CT
Toshiba/Canon CT experience preferred.
Fuji PACS experience preferred.

Education

Must have graduated from an accredited Radiography School

Licenses, Certifications, And/or Registration

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certified.
Must complete annual educational requirements for licenses/certifications in areas where you function, i.e., CT dose, MRI safety.
CT certification required

EMR System: Cerner experience preferred

Shift: Flexible

COVID Required: Must have current COVID Vaccination and Boosters

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology used in standard radiographic, and CT.
Extensive knowledge of radiation physics and protection (ALARA).
Extensive understanding and knowledge of CT (computed tomography).
Considerable knowledge of digitized imaging and multiple computer systems.
Skilled at independently performing radiographic, CT, and fluoroscopic exams.
Skilled in oral and written communication.
Skilled in organizing and cleaning work areas and maintaining equipment in serviceable condition.
Able to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with radiologists, providers, patients, computer technologists, and SEARHC staff.
Able to perform multiple tasks in a small department.
Able to learn new imaging exams as required by radiologists or providers.
