Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced SAP Basis Consultant to join our automotive parts company's IT team. As an SAP Basis Consultant, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the SAP system landscape, ensuring its stability, security, and optimal performance. Your expertise in SAP Basis administration will be crucial in supporting our business processes and enabling efficient utilization of SAP applications. This role will work MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain, LLC (MNAe).
ABOUT MOBIS NORTH AMERICA ELECTRIFIED POWERTRAIN, LLC
MOBIS North America electrified Powertrain LLC (MNAe) is a Tier 1 supplier of BSA and PE systems, which are vital parts to produce electric vehicles, based on state-of-art manufacturing technology related to battery system assembly.
Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)
- SAP System Administration:
- Install, configure, and upgrade SAP systems, including SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA, and related components, based on business requirements and best practices.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform system maintenance activities, such as system copies, system refreshes, and applying support packs or patches.
- Configure and manage system security, user roles, authorizations, and profiles.
- Collaborate with functional teams to implement and maintain transport management system (TMS) configurations and release strategies.
- System Landscape Design and Architecture:
- Design and architect the SAP system landscape, including development, quality assurance, and production environments.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure proper hardware, network, and storage resources are in place to support the SAP systems.
- Plan and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions for the SAP landscape.
- Conduct system sizing and capacity planning activities to ensure optimal system performance and scalability.
- System Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
- Implement and maintain system monitoring tools and processes to proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks, system errors, and resource utilization issues.
- Analyze system performance metrics and logs to identify areas for improvement and implement optimizations.
- Work closely with database administrators to monitor and optimize database performance and execute database administration tasks related to SAP systems.
- System Upgrades and Technical Support:
- Plan and execute SAP system upgrades, including software and database upgrades, applying enhancement packages, or migrating to new SAP versions.
- Provide technical support for SAP system-related incidents, working with functional teams and external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
- Collaborate with technical teams to integrate SAP systems with other enterprise systems and third-party applications.
- Document system configurations, installation procedures, and troubleshooting steps to maintain an up-to-date knowledge base.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of SAP system landscape design, architecture, and administration, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.
- Strong understanding of SAP system performance monitoring, analysis, and optimization techniques.
- Proficiency in SAP system security, user management, and transport management system (TMS) configuration.
- Experience in SAP system troubleshooting, incident management, and problem resolution.
- Familiarity with database concepts and experience with SAP databases (e.g., SAP HANA, Oracle, MS SQL Server).
- Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery solutions for SAP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, business users, and external vendors.
- SAP Basis certification is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in the automotive industry or related manufacturing sectors is a plus.
- Bilingual speaker (English and Korean) is a plus.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5 years or more experience as an SAP Basis Consultant or similar role, with a focus on SAP system administration and technical support.
