Summary
The Winder Operator’s main objective is safety, quality and production. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the company policies.
Roles & Responsibilities (Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned)
With little or no supervision, setup and operate winder, prints labels, label cores, loads and unloads winder, performs visual quality check during unloading, additionally builds, labels, weighs and wraps finished product packages.
- Be on line at 5:55 to make shift relief
- Look at recipe sheet to determine what is running. Identify and utilize information on recipe sheets, pertaining to part number and
date code labels, target weights, product length and width
- Perform weight checks and measure rolls when you first come on and then every two hours required, calculate gauge and inform line operator when off gauge
- Continue to build packaging requirements make adjustments for products
- Maintain all safety policies around using proper PPE, stacking heights, etc..
- Monitor bleed and end trim, pull trim as required.
- Label cores and pallets, stage and load pallets, load and unload winder

- Fill in information on roll weights
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and calculate gauge, Pull back film and visually inspect finished rolls for gauge bands, fish eyes, specks, gels, edge quality and communicate any problem to the extruder operator.
- Inspect web throughout the day
- Utilize recipe sheet to setup winder for different widths and lengths, cut arbor end pieces, change slitter blades as needed.
- Safely thread up winder and cast unit when starting line (using bump cap in cast section).
- Keep work area clean. When line is down blow cast unit and winder of debris.
- Perform related duties as assigned.

- Follow all Plant and safety policies
- Successfully complete fork lift operator training.
- All packaging supplies should be setup for next shift
- Communicate issues and run information to shift coming on duty
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
