Position Sumary
The Third Party Logistics Coordinator interacts with the Modern sales and carrier vendors to provide information in response to inquiries, properly match shipments to appropriate carriers, negotiate rates, provide information on supply and demand and pricing on a daily basis, trouble shoot issues as they arise, provide necessary information to team members and customers about status of shipments, and handle and resolve complaints.
Essential Responsibilities
- Make outbound phone calls to solicit and match carriers with available loads.
- Take inbound calls for carrier availability and maintain that information.
- Develop relationships with core carriers.
- Coordinate and oversee the movement of each load from dispatch to delivery.
- Work closely with dispatch to ensure truck availability.
- Negotiate pricing with brokers within Modern sales specifications.
- Resolve customer questions related to shipments in transit as needed.
- Assist sales representatives in completing requests.
- Make calls and sends correspondence to develop core carriers.
- Discuss and helps resolve carrier performance issues with customers.
- Complete various administrative functions that are required as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required, associate's degree preferred.
- One year minimum freight logistics experience in Transportation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Competent with Microsoft products.
- Ability to compose correspondence and think on your feet.
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency while paying attention to detail.
- Highly motivated and energetic self-starter with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
