Reports to: Development & Manufacturing Supervisor

Pay Scale: Non-Exempt

Role Summary:

The Millwork Team Lead, will be responsible for assisting Project Managers, Production Manager, and/or other department leads in coordinating the activities of the project to ensure cost, schedule and quality standards are being met. This role will assist in providing the estimators and project managers with accurate timelines for perspective and current projects. This role will be responsible for project flow, delegation of duties, and ensuring success for each project that is reflective of Modern Space’s extraordinary quality requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

· Under the direction of the Development & Manufacturing Supervisor, the millwork team lead role will required individual initiative and the ability to work with and support at team to complete the tasks at hand.

· Collaboration with other team leaders in the production floor is essential.

· Must develop an understanding for assigned projects.

· Review project logs with Project Manager on a daily or weekly basis

· Actively participate in project intro and closeout meetings

· Partner with Logistics team to organize finished products for shipping such as labelling, wrapping, coordinating deliveries of materials and installations.

· Communicate project life cycle and status

· Develop strategic plan for optimized productivity.

· Plan, schedule and coordinate departmental activities to fulfil project schedule demands and deliver finished products on time and within budget.

· Manage all safety and environmental policies and procedures in the department.

· Coordinate work with all manufacturing departments, including purchasing, millwork, to assure a cohesive overall project execution.

· Keep the project manager apprised of changes to scheduled execution dates.

· Ability to locate, retrieve and disseminate information from blueprints and other engineering drawings.

· Ensure completed work meets the established and historical standards for quality.

· Ability to work with outsourcing services occasionally to monitor execution and quality.

· Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

· Previous Experience in both Metal Fabrication & Custom Millwork manufacturing environments is essential.

· Ability to read interpret shop manufacturing drawings.

· Proven success in previous General Manager role or any similar Executive level experience.

· Strong decision making ability.

· Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills.

· Ability to motivate and lead employees and hold them accountable.

· Must be a team player and willing to jump in and help to meet company deliverables.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks with high degree of organization.

· Must be able to thrive in fast paced environments.

· Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and meet tight deadlines.

· Must use judgment, be very detail oriented and use judgement.

· Must be comfortable being very hands on to help drive process improvement.

· Ability to work well under pressure.

Education:

· High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

· 6 years in woodwork

· Mechanical abilities, manual dexterity, and ability to pay attention to detail

· Able to expand basic woodwork techniques and construction

Physical considerations

• This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to paints, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and other production operations. The noise level in the workplace can be loud.
• This position requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• The employee is expected to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• The employee must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.50 - $28.00 per hour
