What are the responsibilities and job description for the RA, Immunology ID position at Moderna?
The Role
The Immunology team at Moderna is looking for highly enthusiastic and talented immunologists interested in advancing our understanding and next-generation design of mRNA therapeutics. The individual will be a member of a growing team focused on the potential to drive long-lived mucosal immune responses via vaccination. The candidate will be responsible for the collection, preparation, stimulation, and staining of precious samples that will then be analyzed by flow cytometry and next generation OMIC tools. The individual will help to develop and run flow cytometric based assays on both pre-clinical and clinical samples. The individual will help with data collection, gating, export, integration, and analysis of data. The individual will be involved in the interpretation of the data and reporting of the data both internally and externally. The successful candidate will be a critical member of the Immunology team – catalyzing and supporting cutting edge next generation strategies to improve immunity at mucosal barriers.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Run cutting edge immunological, flow-based assays
Support the collection of both preclinical and clinical samples for multi-OMIC analyses
Perform gating, export, and data integration for computational analysis
Work with engineers to automate steps for tissue collection and analysis
Support and execute experiments on in vitro tissue/organoid based platforms
Drive a culture of excitement around mucosal immunology
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
1-3 years experience in the lab
Bachelor or Master’s degree in the Biological Sciences
Solid scientific background, preferred in the field of immunology
Ability to think critically and demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel within the organization
Candidate will be curious in exploring new path for drug discovery, bold in proposing creative experimental designs and ideas. Will work collaboratively with multifunctional teams and will be relentless in pursuing successful outcomes.
