Maintenance Person

Position Overview:

Mohawk Day Camp is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Team Member to join our staff. The ideal candidate will have experience in handy work and will be proficient in general maintenance tasks, facility upkeep, and operating various types of equipment. Experience with plumbing experience for pool maintenance and electrical expertise is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the maintenance and repair of camp facilities, including buildings, grounds and equipment.
• Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure the longevity and efficiency of camp assets.
• Assist with plumbing tasks related to pool maintenance, if applicable.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion of projects.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Be prepared to respond to emergencies such as spills, leaks, power outages, or other issues that may arise during camp or school hours.
• Help set up for events, activities, or classes as needed, and assist with breakdown and cleanup afterward.

Requirements:

• Proven experience with handywork.
• Proficiency in general repairs and facility maintenance.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Experience operating machinery and equipment safely.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
